Deadlines

Applicants who are not U.S. citizens and who reside outside the U.S. should apply early. Numerous delays can delay your ability to complete the application in a timely fashion if you neglect to plan early. Potential delays include: receipt of official academic records; financial documents from your bank; translation of your non-English documents; pace of mail systems; transmission of official GRE and TOEFL scores; and difficulties in arranging for a visa interview at a U.S. consulate or embassy.

To ensure that NIU faculty and staff can to respond to your application in time to facilitate your arrival, the Graduate School has established a May 1 deadline for receipt of all application materials sent by international students seeking admission in the Fall; the deadline for Spring admission is October 1.
